Mon a Menai

This is a fund made available by WAG as a consequence of the impending closure of Wylfa. It seeks to promote a strong tourism offer, maximising the opportunities offered by the area unique cultural and linguistic heritage, and its high quality environment presenting a range of opportunities for outdoor pursuits.

The objective is to maximise the areas tourism potential, as a result of the historic significance of major sites such as Caernarfon and capitalising on the area’s strong Welsh language traditions together with its proud cultural and social heritage. In addition to the above Mon Menai will support essential, but smaller scale, projects in key urban areas, including village centres and proposals from Communities First Partnerships.

We also see opportunities for heritage projects in Interreg European funds, which have yet to be tapped.
