New and existing food producers can access support to develop new products or develop an existing range. The support available can include training, specialist advice and grant support. We also aware that innovation may require additional resources and Menter Môn are able to work closely with groups and individuals on developing new products with real market potential.
Nerys Roberts of Popty’r Bryn produces oat cakes and Menai Jones of Rhyd y Delyn produces cheese. Both are from farming backgrounds and have been friends for a long time. It therefore seemed the obvious decision to collaborate in order to add value to both businesses. The new product was a gift box of cheese and biscuits and it was called Cwlwm Caws. Menter Môn provided business advice and design support to ensure the new product looks as good as it tasted.
Deri Môn produces a range of smoked products including meat, garlic, salt and even butter. They have a wide selection of products and were incurring significant costs in producing different labels for each item. They approached Menter Môn for support to purchase a specialist printer and software which would enable them to print product details e.g. shelf life, product description directly onto bespoke labels. A grant was awarded and the machine is getting plenty of use.
