Ucheldre Centre and Menter Iaith M\u00f4n would like to thank the Welsh Government, the National Lottery and the Arts Council of Wales for the \u2018Create and Flourish\u2019 grant to run the creative community project \u2018Creating Sunshine\u2019 in Holyhead. \u00a0Over the coming year, Ucheldre and local artists will offer free workshops.<\/p>\n

Manon Prysor a Creative Partner in the project explained; \u201cOur first set of workshops will build towards the Holyhead Festival offering workshops from arts, crafts; dance, music, drama, film, to gaining confidence in Welsh and bilingualism. \u00a0It\u2019s all about bringing sunshine and creative fun and bringing the community together\u201d.<\/p>\n

Manon has been consulting with local groups and businesses and would like to thank M\u00f4n CF, Teli M\u00f4n, Holyhead Festival Committee, local schools, Milbank groups, Dechrau\u2019n D\u00eag and Holyhead Ffiws, (a Menter M\u00f4n project) for their collaboration.\u00a0 There\u2019s also a special thanks to the young people from Holyhead Secondary School for giving this project a perfect start designing the logo, and to Little Treasures for donating T-shirts.<\/p>\n

Year 10 pupils from Holyhead Secondary School were invited to design the logo for the project with the designer at Ffiws in Holyhead. Nia Sian, Ffiws M\u00f4n\u2019s Co-ordinator said they were happy to collaborate with Ucheldre as offering these opportunities is what Ffiws is all about. The young people have enjoyed being part of the designing and would like to continue to take part in Creating Sunshine.<\/p>\n

Today we are proud to launch our logo for \u2018Creating Sunshine\u2019 and our Facebook and Instagram pages where we will share information about up-coming workshops. You\u2019re welcome to drop by our stall on Newry beach during the Holyhead Festival for fun creative activities and to share your thoughts with the team. Manon Prysor will be out and about talking with the local community and gathering your ideas.
