Morlais is Menter M\u00f4n’s tidal stream energy project. It manages an area of 35Km\u00b2 of the seabed near Ynys Cybi (Holy Island), Ynys M\u00f4n (Anglesey). The scheme has the potential to generate up to 240MW of low carbon clean electricity.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This week, the Chief Executive of Morlais and Energy Director at Menter M\u00f4n, Andy Billcliff,\u00a0 travelled to Japan to participate in the 13th World Congress of Ocean, a leading international event focused on the future of our oceans.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The World Congress of Ocean has become a vital global platform, bringing together top experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to tackle the most pressing challenges facing our seas. This year\u2019s theme, \u201cSustainable Futures for Our Oceans,\u201d highlights the urgent need for collaboration and innovation to protect marine ecosystems while advancing the blue economy.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Andy Billcliff had the opportunity to contribute his expertise on tidal energy development, at the conference in Osaka, Japan, sharing insights from our pioneering projects in Wales.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This underscores Wales\u2019 commitment to renewable energy and sustainable marine solutions and how Menter M\u00f4n is at the forefront of green energy development and innovation with the aim of benefiting the local economy and community by supplying new jobs, contracting local suppliers, providing experiences and of course generating low carbon energy.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
