Our aim is to reduce food miles, improve access to healthy and affordable food for everyone, and give communities the skills and confidence to grow, buy and cook nutritious local produce while understanding the many benefits of doing so.<\/p>\n<p>The Ynys M\u00f4n Food Partnership Grant supports individuals, groups, and organisations with projects or creative ideas that reflect the aims of the Ynys M\u00f4n and Gwynedd Food Charter. The grant is delivered by Menter M\u00f4n.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re welcoming applications for food-related events or activities taking place before <strong>11\/12\/2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Community groups, charities, schools, local authority teams, organisations and businesses on Ynys M\u00f4n can apply. If your event or activity helps bring people together through nutritious food, we\u2019d love to hear from you.<\/p>\n<p>Funding is limited, please apply by <strong>31\/03\/2026<\/strong>. We\u2019ll aim to get back to you within 14 working days of receiving your application.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re looking to fund work that helps to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure reliable access to quality, affordable and nutritious food<br \/>\n\u2022 Improve the health and wellbeing of local people<br \/>\n\u2022 Increase the availability of healthy, fresh and locally sourced produce<br \/>\n\u2022 Encourage sustainable food production<br \/>\n\u2022 Strengthen partnerships and bring communities together<br \/>\n\u2022 Support and grow the local economy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We encourage you to take a look at the<a href=\"https:\/\/view.officeapps.live.com\/op\/view.aspx?src=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.mentermon.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2023%2F10%2FSiarter-Fwyd-Gwynedd-Ynys-Mon-Food-Charter.docx&amp;wdOrigin=BROWSELINK\"> Gwynedd &amp; Ynys M\u00f4n Food Charter<\/a>\u2019s goal and vision.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Who can apply and what types of projects or activities can we support? <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Grow together:<\/strong> community gardens and outdoor projects.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cook and share:<\/strong> classes, meals, and hands-on food activities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Learn about food:<\/strong> skills, local produce, and healthy eating.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Farm smart:<\/strong> eco-friendly and innovative food production.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lower food waste:<\/strong> reduce food and packaging waste and raise awareness<\/li>\n<li><strong>Connect:<\/strong> support people who are lonely or isolated, and encourage intergenerational or bilingual participation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Celebrate local:<\/strong> Ynys M\u00f4n food, culture, and traditions, welcoming all communities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Access for all:<\/strong> help people get locally grown food and join inclusive food activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Activities must: <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Get people involved in growing, cooking, and sharing healthy food.<\/li>\n<li>Use local food and businesses whenever possible to keep food miles low.<\/li>\n<li>Make your project open to the wider community so more people can join.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>What the grant can be used for<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Funding will be used to support the Local Food Partnership and community organisations to support food related projects linked to the work of the local food partnerships, including those that help tackle the root causes of food poverty. For example, it can be used to purchase equipment to support initiatives such as, but not limited to, the development of local food growing and distribution initiatives and projects which support the development of food knowledge and skills.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Equipment you need to run your event or activity, like gardening tools, cooking equipment, composting collection etc<\/li>\n<li>Structures and furniture to help your event, such as polytunnels, gazebos, chairs, or tables.<\/li>\n<li>Marketing materials or stationery to promote your project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is just a guide\u2014other costs may also be covered, please ask if you\u2019re unsure.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Things the funding cannot pay for:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Already-funded events (unless adding extra benefits)<\/li>\n<li>Food<\/li>\n<li>Transportation<\/li>\n<li>Staff wages<\/li>\n<li>Big equipment like fridges, freezers, or ovens<\/li>\n<li>Cars or other vehicles<\/li>\n<li>Repairs or maintenance<\/li>\n<li>Alcohol<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is just a guide\u2014other costs may also be covered, please ask if you\u2019re unsure.<\/p>\n<p><em>Ynys M\u00f4n Food Partnership reserves the right to reclaim some or all of the grant if you do not meet the requirements set out in this document. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Application process: <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Contact the team to discuss your idea beforehand if you are unsure if your plan qualifies for the grant.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete the application form via <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/e\/Zn097fkgK9?origin=lprLink\">this link<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Funding closing date 31\/03\/2026<\/li>\n<li>Applicants will be notified on success before 29\/05\/2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Grant size: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can apply for grants between \u00a3500 &amp; \u00a34,999<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are there any restrictions on how grant funds can be used?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Funds must be used for the purpose of the Fund. No procurement is required as the fund&#8217;s maximum is below the Menter M\u00f4n policy procurement threshold, but you must keep and record all evidence of expenditure.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How will we receive the funding?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You will claim the budget back from Menter M\u00f4n Cyf, or in special circumstances, we can pay the budget upfront. Either way, all evidence must be kept against the budget.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the selection and evaluation process for grant applications?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applications will be assessed against the following matrix:<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"301\">Response to Food Charter goals<\/td>\n<td width=\"301\">35%<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"301\">Response to local need\/challenge<\/td>\n<td width=\"301\">35%<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"301\">Feasibility (time and budget)<\/td>\n<td width=\"301\">30%<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><strong>Is there a reporting and monitoring requirement for grant recipients?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes, after your event or activity, you\u2019ll need to complete a monitoring form and provide proof of spend (receipts, invoices, or photos).<\/p>\n<p>Successful applicants may also be asked to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Report on their project outcomes.<\/li>\n<li>Take part in case studies or evaluations.<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring requirements will be sent when you request the grant\u2014please read and agree before applying.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Grant Terms and Conditions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Use of the grant:<\/strong> The grant can only be used for the project you applied for and was approved by Ynys M\u00f4n Food Partnership. We understand plans can change or be cancelled. If your project changes significantly, please contact us <strong>before<\/strong> spending any of the grant. All grant money must be spent by <strong>11\/12\/2026<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Meeting requirements:<\/strong> If your organisation doesn\u2019t follow the requirements in this document, we may ask for some or all of the grant back.<\/li>\n<li><strong>No transfer:<\/strong> The grant cannot be given or transferred to anyone else.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bank account:<\/strong> Grant payments will only be made to an eligible bank account in your organisation\u2019s name.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Use of information:<\/strong> By accepting the grant, you agree that Ynys M\u00f4n Food Partnership can use any information or images you provide for publicity or marketing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Monitoring and evaluation:<\/strong> You\u2019ll need to complete a short monitoring form. We may use your evaluation for reporting, and we may ask for updates after the project ends.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Health and safety:<\/strong> The safety of everyone involved is very important.
