Running from 24 to 30 April, the week celebrates meaningful connections between generations and highlights the positive impact these relationships have on wellbeing, communities, and society.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This year, Menter M\u00f4n is proud to act as Country Lead for Wales, coordinating activities and sharing good practice nationally and internationally as part of the global movement.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Throughout the week, children, older people, schools, care homes, and community organisations,\u00a0as well as local authorities,\u00a0will come together to take part in activities designed to strengthen intergenerational relationships. On Ynys M\u00f4n, several local schools are visiting residential settings to share music, conversation, and companionship.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Pupils from Ysgol y Graig will visit residents at\u00a0Hafan\u00a0Cefni, where they will perform songs and spend time together, using music\u00a0to\u00a0connect across generations. Children from Ysgol\u00a0Bryngwran\u00a0will visit Plas\u00a0Crigyll, while pupils from Ysgol\u00a0Henblas\u00a0are looking forward to spending time with residents at\u00a0Rhos\u00a0Residential Home. These visits offer valuable opportunities for shared experiences, friendship, and learning,\u00a0benefitting\u00a0both young people and older residents.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In addition to local activities, Wales will host a national\u00a0webinar\u00a0on intergenerational practice,\u00a0showcasing\u00a0good work\u00a0from across the country. The\u00a0webinar\u00a0will feature contributions from the Older People\u2019s Commissioner for Wales, along with Karen from\u00a0Kariad, and other practitioners and organisations working to build stronger connections between generations. The session will provide a platform for sharing learning, celebrating success, and exploring how intergenerational approaches can support healthier, more connected communities.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">As part of Global Intergenerational Week, Menter M\u00f4n will also publish a special Ein Hanes Ni bulletin, focusing on\u00a0Amlwch. The bulletin highlights a particular local area and explores what brings generations together within that community, reflecting on shared history, place, and relationships. The initiative aims to capture stories that show how intergenerational connections are shaped by local culture and community life.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Aaron Morris, Project Officer at Menter M\u00f4n said:<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cGlobal Intergenerational Week is about creating meaningful spaces where people of all ages can come together, learn from one another and build genuine connections,\u201d\u00a0said Aaron Morris, Project Officer at Menter M\u00f4n. \u201cIntergenerational activity has been shown to reduce loneliness, improve wellbeing and foster greater understanding and respect between generations, and we\u2019re incredibly proud to see so many local communities taking part here in Wales.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Global Intergenerational Week is celebrated in countries across the world, promoting the message that communities are stronger when generations are connected. With schools, care homes, community organisations, and national bodies taking part, Wales is once again\u00a0demonstrating\u00a0its commitment to building age-friendly, inclusive communities.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">More activities will take place throughout the week,\u00a0partners such as\u00a0Cyngor\u00a0Gwynedd, Anglesey County Council,\u00a0Ageing Well\u00a0in Wrexham,\u00a0and Cardiff\u00a0Council\u00a0are taking part\u00a0with the programme continuing to grow as organisations and communities join the celebration.
