Approval of the Outline Business Case for the Holyhead Hydrogen Hub has cleared the way for the next stage of a \u00a322 million project which will\u00a0establish\u00a0a new green energy facility in North Wales.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Led by ourselves at Menter M\u00f4n in partnership with Hynamics, part of the EDF Group, the project is looking to secure North Wales Growth Deal funding through Ambition North Wales. It will provide the infrastructure needed to support early hydrogen adoption, helping businesses access a local supply of low-carbon energy as demand develops.<\/p>\n The project will see a 5MW\u00a0green\u00a0hydrogen production site developed at Parc Cybi,\u00a0Holyhead.\u00a0The hub\u00a0which has already secured planning permission,\u00a0will support the transition to cleaner energy by providing locally produced hydrogen for harder-to-decarbonise sectors, including transport,\u00a0logistics, construction, port\u00a0operations\u00a0and events.<\/p>\n Dafydd Gruffydd, Managing Director of Menter M\u00f4n\u00a0said:\u00a0<\/b>\u201cHolyhead is a strategically important location for the development of green hydrogen in Wales with existing grid\u00a0connections and transport links.\u00a0Here at Menter M\u00f4n our vision is to unlock the potential of our people and resources to secure the future of our communities.\u00a0We\u2019re\u00a0aiming to deliver the Holyhead Hydrogen Hub as part of our growing energy portfolio, driven by a vision to create local jobs, boost the region\u2019s economy, and ensure that the transition to clean energy delivers long-term benefit for our communities. We are\u00a0very grateful\u00a0to our partners and\u00a0look forward to continuing to work with our partners to progress and deliver this important project.\u201d<\/p>\n Councillor Gary Pritchard\u00a0is Leader of Ynys M\u00f4n Council and\u00a0Ambition North Wales\u00a0lead member\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0low carbon energy programme. He said:\u00a0<\/b>\u201cApproval of the Outline Business Case is an important milestone for the Holyhead Hydrogen Hub and shows the confidence Ambition North Wales has in the role this project can play in supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is about more than producing green hydrogen.
