This marks an exciting milestone in the establishment of the Porth Wen Solar Farm Community Benefit Fund. EDF Renewables UK will invest \u00a320,000 per year over the lifetime of the solar farm into the fund which will be available to the local communities of Cemaes and Amlwch as well as the two local schools. Menter M\u00f4n will also contribute our fee for managing the fund.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s Available?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u00a38,000<\/strong> for projects in Cemaes<\/li>\n<li><strong>\u00a32,000<\/strong> for projects in Amlwch<\/li>\n<li>Up to <strong>\u00a32,000 per application<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Empowering Local Communities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The fund acknowledges that Cemaes and Amlwch will host the Porth Wen solar farm for 30 years and aims to support residents to develop community focused initiatives which will enhance outdoor spaces, celebrate the Welsh language and local heritage, and protect biodiversity.<\/p>\n<p>Menter M\u00f4n will work with individuals, groups, social enterprises, and businesses to ensure the fund supports projects that meet community needs. Whether it\u2019s communal gardens, sports activities, or local events, this funding is designed to bring people together and create lasting impact.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Investing in Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As part of this commitment, \u00a310,000 has already been allocated to local schools in Cemaes and Amlwch, supporting educational projects that will benefit the area\u2019s young people.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please read the fund guidelines <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mentermon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/1.-ENG-Guidelines-Porth-Wen.pdf\"><u>here<\/u><\/a> carefully before submitting your application.
