North Wales Fish Direct was created as a direct response to the COVID 19 outbreak and the overnight loss of the UK and European fishing markets for all fishermen across North Wales.
A Facebook page was created and is managed by Craig Hughes, Menter Mon’s Senior officer on the Fishermen’s Local Action Group (FLAG).
Craig created the Facebook page @seafoodwales so that fishermen & seafood suppliers from across the region could post details of their catches/offers, enabling them to sell direct to the local communities across North Wales, maintaining income through these difficult times.
Customers are also able to post request for seafood, detailing their requirements and location, in turn fishermen local to them make contact, fulfilling their seafood requirements.
