This week our tidal energy project, Morlais, welcomed and hosted a delegation from China and Welsh Government. The Chinese delegation included a pioneer and a leader of the tidal energy sector in China – Lin Dong, the Chief Engineer of LHD New Energy Corporation , who travelled from China to visit the Morlais development.
LHD New Energy Corporation is leading the development of the tidal energy field in China. And their project in Xiushan is one of the most advanced in the world and has achieved more than 60 months of continuous operation.
Mr Lin had the opportunity to visit the Morlais development, sharing good practice and discussing tidal energy with our Team.

The visit provided an opportunity to share an overview of the Morlais tidal energy scheme, discuss pathways for developers, and explore opportunities within the local supply chain. It was also a valuable chance to learn more about LHD’s tidal demonstration project and exchange knowledge and expertise on global marine energy innovation.
Menter Môn and Morlais are proud of the way we create connections, work with others, and share good practice for the good of the environment and economy. This also shows how we’re pioneering and being innovative in this space.
