The streets of five towns across Anglesey will come alive again this year as thousands of island residents including pupils, school staff, families and more gather to celebrate St David’s Day.
We are very proud to be coordinating the activities and look forward to a week of colorful parades that draw attention to the island’s pride in its language and culture.
The marches will take place between 25 February and 3 March 2026 in the following locations:
• Amlwch – 25/2, 10am (starts from Salem Street car park)
• Llangefni – 27/2, 10am (starts from the Dingle car park)
• Bodedern – 27/2, 10am (starting from Bodedern High School)
• Holyhead – 2/3, 10am (starting from St Mary’s Church)
• Porthaethwy – 3/3, 10am (starts from Cae Waun car park)

Pupils from schools across the island including primary and secondary schools will participate by carrying flags and creating colorful displays that reflect their pride towards Welsh culture and the Welsh language by celebrating St David’s Day.

In addition to the thousands who will be walking, various local bands and artists, including names such as Gethin Tomos, Y Moniars, Blocoswn, and the Band Taro Canolfan Addysg y Bont will perform for children afterwards. It will all add to the wonderful atmosphere of the events.

Call to Local Businesses: Bring Colour to the Streets
We are appealing to shop and business owners along the parade route to join in the celebrations by decorating their windows.
Everyone is welcome to create red, white and green displays in order to add to the wonderful vision of Welsh pride and a warm welcome.

Huw Edward Jones, Community Schemes Manager for Anglesey , said:
“These parades are a special opportunity for the young people of the island to show their pride in their Welsh identity.
“Our young people are the future of Anglesey’s communities, and coming out to support them with shirts, hats or flags brings us all together in a celebration of our culture and our patron saint.
