Menter Môn has been assessing the impact of Mis Cylchol, an ambitious and creative campaign to celebrate and promote the circular economy across Gwynedd and Môn. With over 191 workshops and 1043 people taking part, the month was full of practical activities, community learning and celebrations of sustainability.
Highlights
The largest event was Project Llai in Galeri, Caernarfon, where up to 250 people came to take part in slow fashion workshops, a repair cafe, and a Vinted market. The event was a perfect example of how the circular economy can come to life in an inspiring and accessible way.
Other activities included:
- Beach cleans with pupils from schools in Rhosneigr and Holyhead, in partnership with Relic Plastic – including plastic recycling workshops where children created their own carabiner clips.
- Various workshops in Ffiws spaces across Gwynedd and Anglesey, including Tanio Bermo, Blaenau Ffestiniog, Botwnnog, Dolgellau, and many more.
- Kilo Sales in Llangefni – promoting second-hand and sustainable fashion.
The impact
The Mis Cylchol Month campaign was an opportunity to unite practical spaces, schools, community projects and local partners under one circular banner. By using the same posters, branding, and messages, it was clear that everyone was part of the same campaign – creating a strong visual and community impact.
Elen Parry, Cylchol Project Manager at Menter Môn, said:
“Mis Cylchol has shown how powerful local collaboration is in promoting sustainable lifestyles. The response from communities, schools and partners has been fantastic, and the Cylchol project is looking forward to building on this momentum moving forward.”
Our mission is to support the people of Anglesey and Gwynedd to understand what a circular economy is, create opportunities for people and businesses to participate, and spread the word that we can make a big difference together.
