Menter Môn has identified great potential for renewable energy on Anglesey and are responsible for pioneering green energy projects including Holyhead Hydrogen Hub, MCRP and Morlais.

About
Areas of Work
Holyhead Hydrogen Hub
Using renewable energy for hydrogen production via electrolysis offers an alternative to depending on a constrained electricity grid. The resulting “green energy” could maximise the advantages of renewables. Hydrogen is gaining recognition for its unique role in transitioning to a decarbonised economy and reducing air pollution. This shift could generate many job opportunities in Wales, particularly focusing on Ynys Môn. Read more.
Morlais
Morlais is Menter Môn’s tidal stream energy project. It manages an area of 35Km² of the seabed near Ynys Cybi (Holy Island), Ynys Môn (Anglesey). The scheme has the potential to generate up to 240MW of low carbon clean electricity. Visit the Morlais website.
VInnovate BLATEM 2.0
Backed by £1million Welsh Government funding through the VInnovate programme, the project aims to design turbine blades that are more efficient and durable, ready for deployment in harsh tidal environments off the coast of Ynys Môn (Anglesey). The initiative sees AMRC Cymru, ORE Catapult, and Menter Môn’s Morlais project partner with Galician firms Magallanes Renovables and D3 Applied Technologies. Learn more
